Education and Statistics Thought Leaders from Stanford University Join ScootPad

Milpitas, CA – Jun 04, 2012 – ScootPad, a leading personalized learning platform, today announced the appointment of two thought leaders & experts to its Advisory Board.

Dr. Karin Forssell and Dr. Rob Tibshirani together bring a wealth of research and thought leadership in the education and statistics domains to ScootPad. “We are honored and fortunate to have two well sought after advisors joining ScootPad to help shape our path as we embark on a major growth phase.” said Bharat Kumar, ScootPad’s Co-Founder & CEO.

Dr. Forssell is the Program Director for the Learning, Design, and Technology Master’s Program, and a Lecturer in the School of Education at Stanford University. “I’m excited by the potential of Scootpad to give real-time feedback to teachers that will personalize instruction.” said Dr. Forssell.

Dr. Tibshirani is a professor in the Departments of Statistics and Health Research & Policy at Stanford University. He is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the Royal Society of Canada. He won the prestigious COPSS Presidents’s award in 1996, the NSERC Steacie award in 1997, the CRM-SSC Prize in Statistics in 2000, and the University of Waterloo distinguished alumni achievement award in 2006. “I’m very excited about what ScootPad has accomplished in a very short amount of time and I look forward to helping shape its future growth.” said Dr. Tibshirani.
