Allesandro Elementary School was an early-adopter school from L.A. “With all the recent changes in education our school has been lucky to have found a program like ScootPad.  It continues to hit the mark on providing students with much needed Math and Reading practice while acquiring computer knowledge. Teachers have the ability to assign and modify student assignments for both class and homework. Parents also have access at home so they can work with their kids. ScootPad has become an important tool in the success of our students.” said Lynn Andrews, Principal, Allesandro Elementary School. “What has probably been the most surprising part is the willingness of the ScootPad team to take our feedback and make improvements swiftly. On behalf of the entire Allesandro team, here’s a big Thank You to ScootPad and the team behind it.”

Fort Gibson students demonstrate significant gains in Math & Reading with ScootPad

San Jose, CA – June 9, 2015 – ScootPad, a leading adaptive learning platform for grades K-8, announced today that Fort Gibson Public Schools renewed their ScootPad Site License for two more years, driven by significant gains in student achievement in both Math and Reading during the 2014-2015 school year.

Fort Gibson implemented ScootPad to deliver 1:1 learning for students at their Early Learning Center and Intermediate Elementary Schools in the 2014-2015 school year. State Department of Education-led tests demonstrated significant student gains in both Math and Reading scores, prompting Fort Gibson to renew their ScootPad site license for two additional years. Also, impressed by the results, Fort Gibson administration mandated ScootPad to be part of their daily blended instruction for all students starting next school year.

“We are very pleased with our experience using ScootPad. We had previously participated in a program through our State Department of Education called Think Through Math. This year as part of that program, we were asked to participate in an additional test that would see how our students compared nationally in math. Our students scored very well. The test was taken in the fall and the spring. One classroom alone showed a 180 point gain. When we asked our teachers who showed the most gain and success on the test what they were doing, we found that those teachers used ScootPad math as part of their daily blended instruction time. Every student in our district has a device as part of our district 1:1 initiative. Our elementary students (k-5) use ScootPad as an integral part of their virtual instruction using their own devices. They communicate with their teachers and receive assignments and practice through ScootPad.” said Cheryl Hill, District Curriculum Director.

“Our state has a high stakes reading test for 3rd graders. They must pass in order to be promoted to 4th grade. ScootPad is a consistent part of the reading instruction and is used faithfully by our Title I reading specialist. For the second year in a row, 100% of our regular Ed students have passed the test. Our results with ScootPad have been so incredible that our Intermediate Elementary principal is now requiring all students to complete one ScootPad Math and one ScootPad Reading lesson each day starting in the fall.” Cheryl Hill added.

“We’re pleased and humbled to see ScootPad delivering measurable impact and helping Fort Gibson students reach their full potential,” said Bharat Kumar, Co-Founder & CEO of ScootPad. “We are also very excited to partner with Fort Gibson in the coming months and years as we continue to roll out our platform’s new and extended capabilities.”

Through partnerships like this, ScootPad’s adaptive learning platform is used by one in three U.S. schools, including some of the largest school districts, and serving over 2 million K-8 students. Huntsville City Schools selects ScootPad as its Adaptive Learning and Common Core Mastery Platform

Milpitas, CA – April 30, 2014 – ScootPad, a leading personalized learning platform, today announced it has been selected as the adaptive learning and Common Core mastery solution of choice by Huntsville City Schools for 17,000 K-8 students. Huntsville joins nearly 2 million users at more than 31,000 schools and districts to use ScootPad to enable personalized student learning and mastery of the Common Core Standards.

Recognized as one of the nation’s most technically advanced and entirely digital districts, Huntsville was in need of a more personalized, engaging and fun learning experience for its students to supplement their current solution from Pearson. ScootPad has been proven to deliver measurable results across many of the Huntsville schools which led them to purchase ScootPad district-wide for all 17,000 (K-8) students across 32 schools!

“Our lower grades (K-2) had been using ScootPad as a resource to supplement our Pearson Digital Curriculum. Upon learning of its success, our upper grades began to use ScootPad to also supplement for reading and math. The results speak volumes about the effectiveness of ScootPad. Not only is it a great resource, but it also provides teachers with a method to differentiate for all ability levels, from Tier III intervention to above grade level resources for those needing enrichment.” said Rebecca Balentine, Principal at Jones Valley Elementary School of Huntsville City Schools. “ScootPad has been instrumental in providing all of our students with a digital platform that is fun, engaging and geared towards each student’s individual needs. Students are able to work at their present ability level, even if that is not their actual grade level. Students whose abilities range from below grade level to those who are performing consistently above their grade level are challenged on a daily basis. We love ScootPad and look forward to using it next year.”

“We are very excited to welcome Huntsville to the rapidly growing learning community on ScootPad! Having selected by one of the most technically advanced and forward-looking school districts is a great testament to ScootPad’s capabilities. We’re also excited and hard-at-work on several innovative and disruptive features we will be releasing in the coming months as we welcome the 2014-2015 school year.” said Bharat Kumar, CEO & Co-Founder of ScootPad.

What challenges or needs did you or your school face that led you to look for a program like ScootPad?

We really needed to have the right materials to teach the Common Core State Standards. We did not change our curriculum materials yet to support the Common Core, because we weren’t in that cycle in our textbook adoption rotation. The teachers and administration searched the internet for new resources to meet these needs and found ScootPad. Our district also provides iPads for all of our students, so we needed something that was compatible with that technology. Our building is PreK-2nd, and the teachers love having this resource to help provide differentiation that addresses the CCSS in a robust, engaging, relevant manner.

How did you implement ScootPad and engage students? Is there a specific feature you used/liked the most?

Teachers were encouraged to use ScootPad, and it slowly spread. We like the fact that it addresses the standards so well, and provides teachers with a way to track the students’ progress.

What results have you seen after utilizing ScootPad?

Our district has a goal this year for 62% of our students to meet their target goals in reading and math on MAP. So far, we are on track for meeting or exceeding that goal.
